About
Landon is a lifelong resident of Grand Ledge, Michigan. He has always been active in the community, developing a passion for public service. As an avid learner and policy bookworm, Landon graduated with degrees in political science, economics, and public policy. Landon currently leads Michigan college and youth voter engagement at a nonpartisan nonprofit, while running to serve as an Eaton County Commissioner while not working.
Democracy and Voting Rights.
Landon's professional expertise is in all thing's democracy - elections, voting rights, and other electoral reforms. Landon has conducted research reviewing causes of political polarization and institutional changes that could address it. This included a major review of primary election reforms, including the top-two primary. At Campus Vote Project, Landon has advocated for election law changes to support younger voters and college students.
Local Government and Politics.
As a candidate for the Eaton County Board of Commissioners, Landon has continued to recognize the importance of local government in providing basic services to communities. As a devoted attendee to local government meetings throughout the Lansing region, Landon wants to find ways to collaboratively expand the opportunities in Eaton County. Landon knows the dedication it takes to elect responsive elected officials who will represent the interest of the people.
Youth Organizing.
Landon is passionate about bringing a new generation of leadership to government. Through his efforts leading a nonprofit's work in Michigan, he is preparing young people to become lifelong voters and civic leaders in their communities.
